Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SgCar.Rent's car rental services in Singapore. By making a booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, creating an account, or renting a vehicle from SgCar.Rent, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Rental Requirements

To rent a vehicle from SgCar.Rent, you must meet the following requirements:

• Age: Be at least 23 years old (25 for luxury and premium vehicles)
• Driving License: Hold a valid driving license for at least 2 years
• International Visitors: Must have a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home country license
• Payment: Have a valid credit card in your name for security deposit
• Identification: Provide valid government-issued photo ID (NRIC for Singapore residents, passport for visitors)

3. Booking and Cancellation

Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed once you receive an email confirmation from SgCar.Rent. Vehicle availability is subject to confirmation. We reserve the right to provide a similar or upgraded vehicle if the booked vehicle is unavailable.

Cancellation Policy

• 48+ hours before pickup: Full refund
• 24-48 hours before pickup: 50% refund
• Less than 24 hours: No refund
• No-show: Full charge applies

Modifications

Booking modifications are subject to vehicle availability and may result in rate changes. Please contact us at least 24 hours before your pickup time to request modifications.

4. Vehicle Use

When using our rental vehicles, you agree to:

• Drive only within Singapore unless prior written approval is obtained for Malaysia travel
• Not smoke in the vehicle (cleaning fee of $200 applies for violations)
• Not transport pets without prior approval and protective seat covers ($50 surcharge)
• Keep the vehicle locked when unattended
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations
• Not carry more passengers than the vehicle is designed for
• Not use the vehicle for hire, delivery services, or commercial purposes unless specified

5. Payment Terms

Rental Rates

All rates displayed on our website are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and include GST. Rates do not include:

• Fuel (vehicles are provided with a full tank; return with full tank)
• Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges
• Parking fees and traffic violations
• Additional driver fees ($10/day per additional driver)
• Child seat rental ($10/day)

Security Deposit

A security deposit is required at pickup. The amount varies by vehicle category ($200-$1,000). Deposits are authorized on your credit card and released within 7-14 business days after vehicle return, subject to no damages or violations.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel. Please return the vehicle with a full tank. A refueling fee of $30 plus fuel cost at market rate applies if the tank is not full.

6. Insurance and Liability

Included Coverage

All rentals include basic insurance coverage:

• Third-party liability up to $1,000,000
• Collision damage waiver with excess
• Personal accident coverage for driver

Excess/Deductible

Standard excess applies per incident:

• Economy/Compact: $1,500
• Standard/SUV: $2,000
• Premium/Luxury: $3,000-$5,000

Optional Super CDW is available to reduce excess to $0 for an additional daily fee.

Exclusions

Insurance does not cover damage caused by: driving under the influence, unauthorized drivers, negligent use, driving in restricted areas, or breach of rental terms.

7. Vehicle Return

• On-time return: Return the vehicle by the agreed time. A 30-minute grace period applies.
• Late returns: Charges apply at hourly rate (up to 3 hours) or daily rate (beyond 3 hours)
• Condition: Return the vehicle in the same condition as received, cleaned inside and out
• Location: Return to the designated location unless agreed otherwise
• Keys and documents: Return all keys, remote controls, and vehicle documents

8. Prohibited Uses

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

• Any illegal activities or transporting illegal goods
• Racing, competitions, or driving tests
• Subletting or allowing unauthorized persons to drive
• Towing or pushing other vehicles
• Off-road driving or driving on unpaved roads
• Driving outside Singapore without prior approval
• Transporting hazardous materials

9. Accidents and Breakdowns

In Case of Accident

1. Ensure safety of all parties and call emergency services if needed (999)
2. Do not admit fault or liability
3. Exchange information with other parties and take photos
4. Report to police within 24 hours if required
5. Contact SgCar.Rent immediately at +65 4123 5799
6. Complete our accident report form within 24 hours

Roadside Assistance

24/7 roadside assistance is included with all rentals. Call our hotline for flat tires, battery issues, lockouts, or mechanical breakdowns. Response time is typically 30-60 minutes within Singapore.

10. Limitation of Liability

SgCar.Rent's liability is limited to the rental fees paid. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, loss of business, personal belongings left in vehicles, or delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
